Agribusiness exported US $ 96.8 bi. in 2019
Exports of the agribusiness sector totaled US $ 96.8 billion last year. This value represents 43.2% of the total exports by Brazil, according to the Department of Trade and International Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. The data show a slight growth of the sector in the country’s total exports. In 2018, this share was 42.3%.
The highlight represented the trade of corn, meat and cotton. Corn registered a record export volume totaling to 43.25 million tons. The previous record was set in 2017, with 29.25 million tons of cereal exported.
Also, according to the Ministry, China has become the main customer of Brazilian beef. The Asian country is accountable for 26.8% of the total exported volume. With this share, it overtook Hong Kong, which occupies the second position, with 18.6%.
